Dr. Peplinski's State of Our Simi Valley Schools Presentation on Jan. 22
Posted 2/1/20

Dr. Jason Peplinski, SVUSD superintendent, presented on the State of Our Simi Valley Schools to about 150 community members and staff on Jan. 22. Held in Studio B at the District Office, his presentation highlighted many of the recent successes seen throughout our district, including the first student enrollment increase seen at the start of a school year since the 2004-2005 year; the steady progress of facility enhancements and safety improvements because of the Measure X bond; recent awards among our schools and staff, such as the California Distinguished School for Vista Elementary and Superintendent of the Year for Region 13 for Dr. Peplinski; and the development of new educational programs at all of our schools to better attract and retain our families. He then turned to some of the challenges the district faces, such as  concerns over the proposed state budget that will likely provide less revenue for our school district if it remains as currently designed; meeting the social-emotional needs of our students; and improving student achievement. In all, Simi Valley Schools are doing well, though there is always room to grow and improve. Attached is the PDF of the presentation. The link goes to the  Simi Valley Acorn's news story on the event.
